The national band for registered nurses (HF/FH) runs from CHF 6,000–6,400 at entry to CHF 7,300–8,500 with a specialisation, gross per month across 13 salaries. Zurich, Basel-Stadt, Geneva and Zug pay at the top of it, Aargau institutions usually below. Whether the gap is worth commuting for depends on rent, travel pass and allowances: Baden is a quarter-hour train ride from Zurich, Rheinfelden the same from Basel.
How much German do I need for a nursing job in Aargau?
Aargau is German-speaking. For many long-term care, Spitex (home care) and basic-care roles a solid B1 gets you started; specialist responsibility and acute wards generally expect B2. Budget for dialect too: residents speak Swiss German, and understanding it matters more than speaking it. Recognition of a foreign diploma runs separately, through the SRK (Swiss Red Cross) and the NAREG register.
