Nursing jobs in Switzerland

The Swiss nursing market has flipped: over 16,000 positions are open, and by 2030 Switzerland will be short around 43,000 nurses (Obsan). For you, that means choice — workload, shift model, setting and salary are more negotiable than ever.

TakeCare places nursing roles from acute hospitals to home care — with transparent salary bands, honest advice on team and roster reality, and the discretion a job change deserves. About half of our mandates are never publicly advertised.

Frequent questions

What does a registered nurse earn in Switzerland?

Registered nurses (HF/FH) start at CHF 6,000–6,400 gross (×13) depending on canton. With experience the band reaches CHF 6,500–7,500, with a clinical specialisation (ICU, ER, anaesthesia) CHF 7,300–8,500. Night and weekend allowances often add 5–15% of annual salary.

Can I work as a nurse in Switzerland with a foreign diploma?

Yes — after recognition by the Swiss Red Cross (NAREG registration). The process takes up to 4 months from a complete dossier and costs at most CHF 1,000. We guide you through it and, where legally possible, place transitional roles.

Are there roles without night shifts?

Yes. Day clinics, practices, home-care day services and many long-term settings run without night shifts. TakeCare lets you filter by shift model — the first Swiss platform to do so.

What does the placement cost me?

Nothing. Our service is fully paid by employers — as Swiss recruitment law intends.
