Does home care pay less than hospitals?
No — base salaries are at a similar level, sometimes slightly above. You forgo night allowances but gain predictable day shifts. FaGe earn CHF 5,000–6,300 in home care, registered nurses CHF 6,200–7,300 (×13).
Do I need a driving licence?
Usually yes (cat. B) — in cities, e-bike or public transport often suffices. Many organisations provide company cars or e-bikes.
Can I start with a small workload?
Yes, home care is the most flexible setting: workloads from 20% are common — ideal for re-entry after a family break. Increasing later is almost always possible.
